Biomedical Optics • Optoacoustics • AI in Science • Clinical Translation

I develop intelligent biomedical sensing technologies by combining optics, ultrasound, and artificial intelligence.

I am currently an Imperial College Research Fellow and Schmidt AI in Science Fellow, based in the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London and the I-X Centre for AI in Science.

If you are someone who gets excited about understanding the physics in biologcal systems and wonder what AI can do to help us improve the way we build things, you are in the right place! I am looking for enthusiastic Master’s and PhD students to join my group, with applications opening in October 2026. Please drop me an email if you are interested in joining my group.

Research Areas

Photoacoustics

Exploring how light can be used to generate sound to reveal molecular information from biological systems.

AI for Science

Developing AI solutions for inteliigent biomedical systems enabling clinical translation.

Biomedical Sensing

Building sensing systems that combines polarisation, chirality, and acoustics to understand metabolism and molecular information of tissues.

Research Journey

My past experiences and research journey until now.
